Important information about your application

Maximum number of participants: 15

Admission requirements: The candidates need to fulfil the following criteria

High motivation
Completed high-school level education (baccalaureate, Abitur, Matura, etc.)
Proficiency in English language (CEFR level B2) - no certificate is required, but we need to make sure you can follow the course in English

Fees and financial matters: Participation Fee is 250 EUR for the 2-week program. This covers

all lab supplies, field equipment and mentoring
lunches and coffee breaks on course days

We can also help you arrange accommodation for the duration of the course for an additional fee of 325 EUR. Travel costs depend on your location, and can be estimated to 200-300 EUR if you are flying from Europe to Split, Croatia.

A few more notes:

The program is delivered as blended learning, in a combination of e-learning, face-to-face lectures and projects held in Split, Croatia. Field visits (institutes, museums, field trips) constitute an important part of the program. Laboratory work and biology projects are costly and we are looking for low-cost but sustainable solutions and we appreciate your contributions and good will to ensure the material is preserved for future generations.

The course starts on July 15th 2019 and lasts until July 28th 2019. Please make sure you arrive to Split on July 14th, and that you do not leave before July 28th.

To get the most out of the course we require of every participant to have their own personal computer for the duration of the course.

What questions can you expect?

Beyond the basics (Your name, birthdate, ...) we want to find out more about who you are, what your interests are and what motivates and excites you. Remember, there is no "wrong" way to answer these questions.

How will the candidates be selected?

Our aim is to gather 15 highly motivated students from diverse backgrounds from around the globe. If we didn't reach our goal at the end of the first application round we will open a second round to fill the remaining spots and so on. Don't miss your chance though, and apply as soon as you are ready!
